My first impression of the city was disgust. An exceptionally dirty Arab city.<\/p>\n
And since we were with the kids after all and didn't want to spend the day in this environment, we decided there was nothing for us to do in the city and caught a tram to the Atlantic coast, where I had heard better reviews.<\/p>\n
Casablanca surprised us with its size. A huge city... a megalopolis indeed. We rode the tram through the city for at least 30 minutes until we reached the ocean. We passed through United Nations Square, as well as a number of other famous local spots. They say that Casablanca \u2014 locals simply call it Casa \u2014 is the showcase of modern Morocco. The megalopolis is the economic and financial locomotive of the country's national economy. Today, the various businesses headquartered in Casablanca account for about 50% of Morocco's gross domestic product.<\/p>\n

The beach we came out on was quite pleasant compared to the initial shock upon getting off the ship.<\/p>\n
The Atlantic coast is definitely one of the must-visit places if you happen to be in Casablanca.<\/strong><\/p>\n
The beach was huge, wide, with waves suitable for beginner surfers. And despite the hot weather, there was no one on the beach. Strange thing.<\/p>\n

On the beach there were young Moroccans playing football, while our kids enjoyed the sand during that time.<\/p>\n
The atmosphere in Casablanca felt quite insecure to us, and safety was an issue at every step.<\/p>\n
Perhaps if it were just the two of us with my husband, I wouldn't nitpick so much, but since we were with the kids, it was necessary to sharpen my safety awareness to the highest degree.<\/p>\n
