“Zagorka”—the only brewery in Bulgaria open to visitors
"The World of Zagorka"
The only brewery in Bulgaria that is open to visitors.
The museum is located in Stara Zagora and is one of the few museums with different authentic exhibits, presenting the history of the production of beer. Visitors can see a beautiful collection of exhibits from the history of beer production; since the brewery was founded in 1902, the brewery has been producing beer; there are also 15 different types of beer produced over the years; the beer is called "Zagorka Vita", intended for the Arab market, as well as many other interesting documents and photos.
The Beer Museum also includes a special visit to the tasting room, where beer lovers can try Zagorka live beer.

When you visit our brewery, just like when you enter a pub, our guide will not give you a long lecture, but will show you around and tell you a bit about the organization of the tour. After that, instructions will follow. The factory can be one place where you can walk around WITHOUT PREJUDICE – i.e. where you can see some of the products, facilities or machines, and then decide whether to go and whether to follow the path 🙂 So this is a pretty clear path, by which you can walk without being disturbed by the organizers.
During our visit to the brewery, a young man—our guide—greeted us right at the entrance and handed out badges to indicate that we were part of the organized tour. A safety briefing followed. The brewery is perhaps the only place where pedestrians <1>do NOT have the right of way</1>—that is, if we see any of the cargo vehicles or machines, we must stop and let them pass. There is also a clearly marked path that we had to follow without stepping outside its boundaries.
Follow the instructions, and then you can go to the other building of the brewery, where you can buy a ticket for the tour and learn more about the history of the brewery. The building is located near the store, where you can buy beer and souvenirs. The distance is not big, so you can go there on foot.

And of course, to wrap things up, we returned to the tasting room, where we had about 45 minutes to sample up to two beers of our choice for free. Naturally, everyone pounced on the draft beer.
