WHO, WHEN AND HOW?
We traveled at the beginning of summer – from 5th to 21st of June 2017. We were 2 adults + 2 children ( aged 2 and 6 ) + a dog. Good thing we didn't drag a hare with us too 🙂
Don’t ask us how we managed to fit so many passengers, a dog, and all our luggage into a Kia Rio for 18 days. In the end, we had to leave the stroller—which broke right at the start of the trip—along the road so we could fit all the little white pebbles from the beautiful Greek beaches that we’d collected, as well as the piles of souvenirs, bottles of olive oil, and so on…
WHAT AND WHERE?
The main route we traveled along was as follows:
Day 1: Plovdiv – Sandanski – Igoumenitsa – 750 km.
Day 2: Ferry Igoumenitsa – Lefkimmi (Corfu). Santa Barbara Beach. Overnight stay in the village of Perivoli at Nikos & Vivi Studios
Day 3: Sidari beach, Afionas beach, Paleokastritsa beach. Overnight stay at the same hotel.
Day 4: Issos beach and Kassiopi beach. Overnight stay at the same hotel.
Day 5: Walk around the capital city Kerkyra. Overnight stay at the same hotel.
Day 6: Ferry Lefkimmi (Corfu) – Igoumenitsa. By car to Lefkada island. Mikros Gialos beach. Overnight stay in Nydri at Calderimi Pension
Day 7: Porto Katsiki beach. Overnight in the same hotel.
Day 8: Kathisma beach. Walk around Nydri. Overnight in the same hotel.
Day 9: Ferry from Nydri (Lefkada) to Fiscardo (Kefalonia). Foki Beach and Myrtos beach. Overnight stay at Lygies Studios.
Day 10: Melissani Cave. Scala beach. Overnight in the same hotel.
Day 11: Petani Beach and Ksi beach ( Xy ) Overnight stay at the same hotel.
Day 12: Walk around the capital Argostoli. Overnight in the same hotel.
Day 13: Ferry Pesada (Kefalonia) – Agios Nikolaos (Zakynthos). Garakas Beach. Overnight stay in Argassi at Athina Apartments
Day 14: Shipwreck Beach. Walk around the capital Zante. Overnight stay at the same hotel.
Day 15: Laganas Beach. Overnight stay in the same hotel.
Day 16: Zante (Zakynthos) – Killini Ferry. Meteora. Overnight stay is Hotel Kaikis.
Day 17: Ognianovo Village. Overnight stay in Twin House.
Day 18: Kovatchevitsa Village. Overnight stay in the same hotel.
Day 19: Return to Plovdiv
